I’ve been itching to write this blog post for a week or two now!
The date for Jo & Pete’s big day at St. Paul’s finally arrived and what a day it was. The day before saw a trip down to London to attend the rehearsal and I also spent some time at the reception venue taking some of the detail shots as I knew time would be tight the next day.
I returned home and re-packed my camera bags with everything I thought I’d need and after 5 hours of sleep was back on a train heading back in to London but this time accompanied by my wife who was my assistant for the day. I think we would have both been a bit more nervous had we not been quite so tired already. It was to be 19 hours later that we’d get back to our comfy bed!.
We arrived in plenty of time and London was unusually quiet – the expected travel chaos during the Olympics had not materialised which was great news for us as we zig-zagged across London throughout the day between the venues and St. Paul’s. It was a truly amazing day – everything was pretty much on time and the weather held out for the day too, despite forecasts predicting otherwise. I have to say that it was a once in a lifetime experience, with continual ‘wow’ moments as the day unfolded. Technically there were no major problems – the video crew turned up, as did my 2nd shooter and all went according to plan.
Jo & Pete both looked amazing as you can see in the photos – they had a fantastic day & were very excited to see the intial preview of images. I think it’s fair to say that Jo got the fairytale wedding she’d hoped and planned for and we all had an amazing day. I’d like to say thank you again to both of them for giving me the opportunity to cover their special day and also wish them the very best for the future. Cheers!
